What we send you

These come from the Japanese side and reach you before the vessel does.

• Original bill of lading
• Export certificate with its English translation
• Commercial invoice
• Pre-export inspection certificate (KEBS-appointed agent)
• Auction sheet and inspection photographs

What you provide

Registration is in your name, so the identity documents have to be yours.

• KRA PIN certificate
• National ID or passport
• For a company import: certificate of incorporation and company PIN
• Import Declaration Form, lodged before the vessel arrives

Get the IDF in early

The Import Declaration Form has to be lodged before arrival. Lodging it late is the most common reason a car sits at Mombasa accruing storage charges while everything else is in order. We flag the deadline as soon as the vessel is confirmed.
