Ruby Car Imports (“we”, “us”) imports used vehicles from Japanese auctions into Kenya. This policy covers rubicars.co.ke and our Android app. We are the data controller for information you send us.

When you send an enquiry we store your name, phone number, optional email, message, and the car you were looking at if you came from a listing.

If you write to us on WhatsApp, call, or email, we keep that conversation so we can quote and import the car.

The website runs on your device. We do not sell advertising profiles. Server logs may keep an IP address and browser type for a short time so we can keep the site up and investigate abuse.

The Android app opens these same pages. We do not collect extra device identifiers beyond what you type into a form or send us yourself, unless Google Play’s own services do so as part of distributing the app.

To reply to quotes, bid at auction on your behalf, arrange shipping and clearing, and keep a record of the import.

We do not sell your details. We do not use them for unrelated marketing lists.

Only people who need it to complete the import: our staff, the Japanese auction / exporter, the shipping line, the clearing agent, and KRA or other authorities when the law requires it.

Hosting and email run on our servers and providers. They process data on our instructions, not for their own marketing.

Enquiry and import records are kept for as long as needed to finish the job and to meet tax and legal retention in Kenya, then deleted or archived with access limited.

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask what we hold, request a correction, or ask us to delete information we no longer need. Write to us at the contact details above. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

The site and app are for people arranging a vehicle import. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the site or app after that date is under the new policy.
